Green Line Public Meeting in Medford
The Executive Office of Transportation and the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office will be hosting a MEPA Consultation Session for the Green Line Extension on Wednesday, November 15th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the McGlynn School, 3002 Mystic Valley Parkway, Medford. At the Session, public agencies, elected officials, and citizens are encouraged to participate and provide input on the scope of the project. Individuals requesting Spanish, American Sign Language, or other translation services can do so by calling Mr. Stephen Woelfel, EOT Manager of Statewide Transit Planning, at (617) 973-7474. All requests should be made no later than Tuesday, November 7th.

The Executive Office of Transportation and the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office are hosting a public consultation session for the proposed extension of the Green Line to Somerville and Medford. The session will be held on Wednesday, November 15,, 2006 from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the auditorium of the McGlynn School, 3002 Mystic Valley Parkway, Medford.
This project consists of the extension of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s Green Line from Lechmere Station in Cambridge to Medford – the Medford Hillside neighborhood and perhaps beyond – as well as Union Square in Somerville. The purpose of the project is to improve mobility, boost transit ridership, improve regional air quality, ensure equitable distribution of transit services, and support opportunities for smart growth and sustainable development in one of the densest areas of the Commonwealth. The Medford Hillside alignment will be located within the existing right-of-way of the Lowell commuter rail line. The Union Square alignment is proposed to be located within the existing right-of-way of the Fitchburg commuter rail line. The project will include construction of approximately six new transit stations.
At the session, public agencies, elected officials, and citizens are encouraged to participate and provide input on the scope of the project.

The McGlynn School can be reached by taking Riverside Avenue to Freedom Way. The school is within reasonable walking distance of the MBTA bus nos. 95, 101, and 354.
