**********
The Boston Region MPO is considering an amendment to the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2010 element of its FFYs 2010–2013 TIP. This amendment would remove one project and add four projects in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding category. The MPO approved an expedited, ten-day public comment period on this action beginning January 25, 2010, and ending February 3, 2010, at 5:00 PM.
The MPO’s Transportation Planning and Programming Committee has approved an administrative modification with a transit element that moves funding from one programmed activity to two others and a highway element that adjusts one project description and responds to cost increases in two projects.
For details, including information on the meeting and copies of the proposed amendment, refer to the MPO’s website, www.bostonmpo.org, beginning January 25. Also on its website are the MPO’s anti-discrimination statement and related information. Copies of the amendment are also obtainable by contacting MPO staff: by mail at 10 Park Plaza, Suite 2150, Boston, MA 02116-3968; by voice at (617) 973-7100; by TTY at (617) 973-7089; by fax at (617) 973-8855; or by e-mail at publicinformation@ctps.org. Copies are free of charge and, upon request, will be made available in CD, print, and accessible formats.
The MBTA, the FTA Section 5307(c) applicant, has consulted with the MPO and concurs that the public involvement process adopted by the MPO for the development of the TIP satisfies the public hearing requirements that pertain to the development of the Program of Projects for regular Section 5307, Urbanized Area Formula Program, grant applications, including the provision for public notice and the time established for public review and comment.
